copyright @ 2010 midhurst fencing company all rights reserved Frequently asked questions Planning your fence  If your new fence is a direct replacement for a current one you can think about different types of fence and alternative heights we can help you with that. For a  boundary fence between neighbours it is worth checking your deeds to see who’s fence and responsibility it is, it is also worth discussing your plans, “good fences  make good neighbours”. For new fences it is usually worth checking with the local planning authorities especially if your fence is street facing, or you intend to remove  a hedge. If you are planning on a new fence think about access gates and layout. Where gates are concerned access for lorries etc should really be taken in to  account.   Please also provide a detailed plan of any underground services to avoid any damage to pipes, and cables.  Guild of Master craftsmen   Applicants for the Guild are required to submit confidential references from customers and one of the first questions asked of all referees is whether or not they would  be prepared to recommend the applicant to a relative or close friend. The Guild's council of management include a review of the references when considering the  application for membership as well as ensuring all other criteria are met. Only when they are satisfied that the applicant really does deserve to be called a master  craftsmen is the application approved. This is about as close as you can get to receiving a recommendation from one of your neighbours or friends.  The quotation  We provide you a “quotation” so, the price you see is the price you pay, should you need or want to make changes to the project prior to us beginning, please let us  know with as much notice as possible so we can discuss, re quote and plan the correct amount of time to your project.  Payment We finish the work, when you are happy we invoice you. Then you have 14 days to make payment. Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer, or Pay Pal (fee  applies). Recommendations In addition to the assurances offered by being a member of the guild of master craftsmen, if you would like any references, please do not hesitate to ask.  Insurance We are insured to £2.5 million with NFU, please make sure any contractors you use are insured to protect you and your property. Please also make sure that your  fencing contractor has subsoil insurance to cover any damaged underground services. Special orders Special orders and custom made products may require a pre payment.
